The parenting programme (Jaccha Baccha Karyakram) was initiated in response to the baseline finding and field observation that parenting in general and early stimulation of children in particular were areas that needed attention. The parenting programme addresses the emerging need of information on parenting to a wider community of mothers and older women on the critical issues of maternal and child health in a more structured and intensive manner. The idea is to deliver a package of information on maternal and child health issues to each group. The module is designed to be completed in 11 sessions. This is an ongoing programme since 2013 and over 600 women have participated and successfully completed the module. Post module testing of learning have indicated positive learning outcomes.
