The need to understand and use computers is still growing. Understanding and using computers helps children understand the changing world. Access to computers in schools is particularly useful for children who do not have access to computers at home.

Computer skills are now considered a basic skill. Children in Nizamuddin Basti do not have computers at home.

Computer Education programme was initiated in 2009 to train MCD school students and youth. The project has undertaken several measures to increase exposure and usage of computers across age groups in Nizamuddin

The Quality of Life Survey of 2008 also indicated that there was a huge unmet need for computer education in Nizamuddin.
